It is worth saying that at the time of writing this article we were able to find this unit on offer in several different places on line for around £40, so its well worth shopping around.​

This trimmer has a pretty good rating of 4 out of 5 so we know this its there or thereabouts. The build quality and features are superb so its hard to understand why it doesn't get a higher mark in the customer ratings. The laser feature sets it apart from other units so I would expect to see much higher ratings than this.

​I have found the ratings are low for 2 main reasons. Firstly buyers expect something special from the laser but really its just a guide and is actually a bit of a gimmick, though it is quite handy. Secondly this is a very expensive unit if you pay full price. As we have found it for £40 in many places I think its a real bargain. There is also a newer model of the Philips Series 9000 so maybe this is why the price has been reduced

As you know the blades on trimmers come in a variety of materials ranging from stainless steel right up to titanium and Japanese steel and this Philips  trimmer comes with self sharpening steel blades.

This is a good selling beard trimmer and it certainly is top of the range. Its just a simple trimmer with a laser gimmick but you will know that you have a well built trimmer in your hand. I really liked this clipper for style and in use
